Rome

Rome is good eaten fresh, but is used mostly as a cider apple. It is mildly tart and firm with a greenish white flesh.

Rome apples are great for baking as they retain their shape and tart flavor beautifully when cooked.

and for baking, as it holds its shape well.

Combine Rome apples with a sweet apple, such as Golden Delicious, for a nice tart and tasty blended applesauce.
